Illinois Republican state Senator and gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey, alongside his wife, Cindy, published a video on Facebook from the Illinois State Fair on Monday.

"Come to the Illinois State Fair and celebrate our heritage in Agriculture!" the video caption read.

"We're here at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, from downtown Chicago, from all the happenings in the city, to back to the farm today," Bailey said in the video. "That's what's so great about Illinois. Within a few hours, we have access to everything. That's why this state is so great."

Bailey has been busy with various campaign and community activities leading up to November's general election. On Aug. 11, he published another Facebook post discussing his participation in the Illinois Corn Growers Association's 50th Anniversary Celebration.

"This organization has directly impacted the growth and expansion of agricultural efforts while supporting and providing meaningful opportunities for young people in the future of Agriculture. Glad to see my friend Congressman Darin Lahood attending as well," he said in the post. "Congratulations on the milestone of 50 years, and we look forward to the years ahead."

Bailey has also responded to criticisms from Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker's campaign, such as an August ad attacking Bailey for accepting pandemic assistance for his farm while allegedly being opposed to government support.

"JB Pritzker, you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth," Bailey said on the Chicago's Morning Answer podcast Monday. "You inherited billions of dollars from your family, you have millions stashed away on islands that most folks have never heard of, let alone visited. You've never woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, worrying about keeping a job or managing payroll. You've literally never worked a day in your life, and you're criticizing me for how I run my farm? How dare you?

"You're the trust fund kid on the school playground, pushing all the regular kids around and making fun of their bagged lunches. You're the guy who ignores the speed limit on your custom-made, one-of-a-kind boat, while the rest of us worry about the price of gas," he said.

Pritzker is an heir to the Hyatt Hotel chain fortune and is the richest sitting politician in the U.S., with a net worth of approximately $3.6 billion.
